UN-Habitat Organises Training of Trainers in Trujillo in Collaboration with ECLAC

Within the framework of the project “Systems of public responsibility to measure, monitor and report on sustainable urban public policies in Latin America”, developed by the United Nations human settlements program (UN-HABITAT) with the support of the Economic Commission for Latin America In Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), a workshop was held in Trujillo, Peru, to train multipliers on accountability and public accountability for sustainable cities policies, with the participation of territorial partners, civil society organisations and representatives of the municipalities of three Latin American countries involved in the project: Rio de Janeiro and Niterói in Brazil, La Paz and Tarija in Bolivia and Trujillo and Chimbote in Peru.

 

 

The workshop took place from 13-15 March 2018 and was attended by 25 participants from 4 countries: Bolivia, Brazil, Chile and Peru. The participants represented academia, municipalities, NGO’s (Fundacion para el Periodismo, Foro Ciudades para la Vida, Casa Fluminense, Instituto Natura, Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, UN-Habitat Brazil, PADEM) 

Based on the themes discussed at the Training of Trainers, the participants from Chimbote organised a training on the SDG11 and NUA in Chimbote for local authorities, academia and civil society. See flyer below.
