UN-Habitat develops and delivers training and capacity building in all thematic areas related to urbanisation.
Mission
To strengthen the capacity of individuals and organizations and empower them with knowledge and skills to transform cities into sustainable, safe, resilient and just places where people can live and work in dignity.
UN-Habitat focuses on capacity building for the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 11.

UN-Habitat combines research, training, human resources capacity, skill development, urban practice, knowledge, institutional capacity and tools into a coherent capacity development strategy to address knowledge, skill and institutional gaps of individuals and organizations.
Principles
Training and capacity building is fundamentally people centered: Individuals are the engines driving urban transformation and improvments of institutions and policy. Learning from global, national and local practices enhances individuals' ability to develop solutions suiting local contexts while respecting diversity.
