Climate-compatible, Sustainable and Resilient Cities

3 – 12 December 2017 — In order to implement the sustainable goals within the Future Saudi Cities Programme, the Climate Change Planning Unit (CCPU) in collaboration with Capacity Development Unit (CDU) organized a foundational training course on “Climate-compatible and Resilient Cities”, to take place 3-12 December 2017 in Riyadh, RSA.  The course was intended for 15-20 Municipal professionals, MOMRA and General Authority of Meteorology, Environmental Protection’s national staff as well as staff of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources  and Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and universities. The course was structured in modules focused on different topics: climate change and impacts on cities, low carbon development, adaptation and resilience strategies, sustainable mobility, energy efficiency, and urban environment. Each module includes a theoretical and practical session in which the learned principles and theories will be applied to case studies.
