April 2017 — This training course was a collaboration of UN-Habitat and the International Urban Training Centre (IUTC). It drew on knowledge and experience of the City Prosperity Initiative (CPI) developed by UN-Habitat as a tool to measure different dimensions of prosperity in cities, as well as to serve as a platform for policy dialogue and action planning for cities. The goal of the course was to develop understanding of urban indicators and its application for policy making, action planning and implementation that have direct impact on the spatial structure of cities and its prosperity. The workshop also introduced the various dimensions of the City Prosperity Index and their policy implications. The workshop was tailored to the needs of senior decision makers and executive staff of municipal and regional governments involved in urban planning and management of cities, mostly from the Asia-Pacific region.
